Marisa Razo is a southern Virginia native (75 baby!) who loves all things creation. As an actress and filmmaker, she creates films for Black, Queer, and Latin femmes, with an emphasis on bringing focus to her intersecting communities. She debuted as a playwright in Fall 2022, where her original Musical, “ To Pimp a Butterfly”, featuring the musical works of Kendrick Lamar, was chosen out of a collection of other young emerging playwrights to be fully produced and performed by New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Marisa works to curate spaces for Black and Brown creatives to work together on art that encourages community, mentorship, and joy. Outside of the arts world, she advocates for Black women in wellness/fitness spaces, creates floral arrangements, and guesses zodiac signs correctly (first try).
